Artistic Associate
Denis Butkus has been an Artistic Associate and Company Member of Rising Phoenix Repertory since 2003. He is also a Literary Associate with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater. With RPR he has produced, developed, and/or acted in:Summer Lovin’, Ponies, The Sibling Plays, Gift, The Telling Trilogy, Three Sisters, Rules of the Universe, Fall Forward, What Happened When, 365 Days/Plays Week 47, Don’t Pet the Zookeeper and Too Much Memory.  As an actor he has appeared on Broadway in The Caine Mutiny Court Martial and inThe Coast of Utopia at Lincoln Center Theater.  Off Broadway he has appeared in plays at Theater for a New Audience, The Mint Theater Company, Keen Company, Red Bull, The Summer Play Festival and Rattlestick.  In the spring of 2008 he made his European debut in the Austrian Premiere of Old Wicked Songsat The English Theatre of Vienna.  BFA, The Juilliard School of Drama.
